Hi, I’m N. T. Wrong, the Free Universalist Interfaith Bishop of Durham, North Carolina. You’ve probably heard of Durham from that majestic ol’ Roger Whittaker ditty, “I’m gonna leave ol’ Durham Town”. No? Maybe it was before your time. But as the Free Universalist Interfaith Bishop of Durham, I’d like to leave my fellow life-travellers with a little thought to meditate on from that classic tune.  Aren’t we all just sitting on the banks of the river Tyne*, watching all the ships going down the line, knowing they are leaving? Bless you.

<

* The funny thing is, there’s no darn river called the Tyne here in North Carolina. So I have no idea what Roger was talking about. Maybe he was just trying to make it rhyme.

Have you considered both Durham and Tyne river in England? That could solve your doubts on Roger.

    There’ll always be an England.

Durham is on the River Wear.

    Durham is a city.

The Bishop of Durham does not live in Durham.

These, and many other facts, are brought to you by the letter D
